E&ICT Smart Classroom is equipped with latest computers, hardware for audio/video conferencing, live streaming, webcasting with recording. All computer systems are installed with softwares such as Matlab R2016b, Cadence Design Tool, Vivado Design Suite- HLx Editions 2017.1, Kein uvision5, Sentaurus TCAD (SDE, Workbench).

Computing & AI Lab

The AI and Computing Lab is a cutting-edge facility designed for advanced research and development in artificial intelligence and computing. It features Dell Precision 7820 tower workstations, each powered by an Intel Xeon Silver 4214 processor and boasting 128 GB of RAM. These workstations support dual-boot with Windows 10 and CentOS 7 for versatility.

The lab offers robust connectivity through LAN and Wi-Fi, fostering efficient collaboration. Software resources include MATLAB, OpenNN, ClearML, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, and OpenCV for AI and machine learning research. Additionally, Synopsys Quantum ATK enables atomic-level materials and device simulation.

Raspberry Pi kits are available for embedded systems and IoT projects, promoting hands-on learning. Workstations are equipped with 24 GB of GPU memory, ECC for error correction, and four display ports for multi-monitor setups, enhancing productivity. This lab is a comprehensive hub for AI, computing, materials science, and quantum mechanics research.

E&ICT, Multi-Purpose Lab

A well-equipped lab having latest desktops/workstations connected to LAN/Wi-Fi with dual boot operating system Windows 10 & CentOS. Softwares such as Matlab R2016b, Cadence Design Tool, Vivado Design Suite- HLx Editions 2017.1, Kein uvision5, Sentaurus TCAD (SDE, Workbench) is installed on all machines. Hardware such as FPGA Zedboard 7000 Series, IoT Kits like MSP 430EXPG2 Launch pad, Wi-Fi booster pack CC110L, Real-time controller using C2000 32 bit uC, Booster pack DRV8301, ASLK pro kit also available in the Lab.

Computer Centre is providing 24×7 Internet facilities with Email services to all the users of IITR at Roorkee campus as well as SRE campus of IITR along with its role of central facilitator of computing facilities like HPC to students and faculty member who are intensely engaged in research activities
